The York Barbell STS Counter-Balanced Smith Machine is designed to provide controlled, stable movements for a variety of strength training exercises like squats, overhead presses, and bench presses when paired with a bench. Its counter-balanced system lowers the starting resistance, accommodating users with varying fitness levels and making the machine approachable for both beginners and more experienced lifters.
The weight bar travels on linear bearings over 1.5-inch case-hardened shafts for smooth operation and is set at a 5-degree angle to follow a more natural movement path. Eight lockout points and adjustable stops provide added control and safety during training, while the walk-through design allows for easier access to the machine.
Built for commercial use, this Smith machine is constructed from 11-gauge steel tubing and finished with a durable, scratch-resistant electrostatic powder-coat. It also features rubber feet for stability and floor protection, along with 12 integrated storage pegs on the back of the machine for convenient plate storage.
